If you are too shy to talk about it you can use this alternative: kiss him amicably near the ear... once then again, supposedly unpredictably and without interruption the second time, draw this imaginary line and reach to his lips from the ear. Quite easy, and the conversation might flow easier too once you've broken this limit.

 TALK to him about it. Communication is a huge part of any relationship. Let him know that you've been thinking about kissing him, and what does he think about that? Admit that you've never really done it before and are concerned that you might not do it correctly (which might keep him from feeling like HE might not do it correctly).
