I agree with Annalisa entirely. Most people who say 'lets just be friends' after a relationship don't mean it. Usually they say it so that you are not too upset, but it rarely works that way.
You'd find it harder to get over him by being friends anyway - imagine if you were friends and had to see him with someone else on a social occasion!!
