writes:I am in 8th grade and I've had this crush on a guy for about 4 months. He hasn't really showed any interest in me ,but my friends catch him staring at me when I have my back to him all the time. We used to text eachother all the time, but lately not at all and I couldn't stand it. Last night I texted him again and I told him that I liked him and then he said he doesn't want a girlfriend. Last year my friend liked him too and when she told him that she liked him he also said he didn't want a girlfriend too. But that was last year! I don't get it. I am always really nice to him and when my other friend asked him what he thought of me he said I was cute and funny. So, any advice? It would be well appreciated. :)

honey ,such a sweet age wish i could go back to being 13 :) he is only a kid...girls mature faster than boys mentally and physically.you are really young too..there's so much of this world you haven't seen.dont scare him away by asking him about it anymore .be friends and know him better as a person
he seems to be honest and nice though so be friends,stick around and wait.by the time you are in 9th or 10th you'll know better .he too will be having the feeling you have now towards the opposite sex..always remember when a guy is 18 he is still equal to a 15 year old girl in terms of maturity.when you are 18 you would probably be fancying marriage and children while he,at 18 would be trying to date girls just to pump up his confidence!

Some people are just not ready to have a girlfriend or a boyfriend at 14, 15, 16 years old. And it is perfectly normal to feel that way. He is just being a very normal teenage boy.
There could be many reasons for him to feel that way.
He may not be mature enough yet
He might not want the hassle of a girlfriend
He might not want to be tied down and be able to do what he wants/when he wants.
He may not like any of the girls enough to want to be their boyfriend.
Just because he says you are cute and funny doesnt mean he wants to date you. This is something to learn - boys can love you to pieces as a friend, think you are amazing, but not want to be your boyfriend.
He doesnt want a girlfriend at the moment, so you have to accept that and not push him. The more you try and force him and back him into a corner, the less likely he is to ever see you as a potential girlfriend.

 He's really young! He really isn't ready for a girlfriend. Guys at that age are either about to reach puberty or have just reached it.
He's not ready, and you might not be the one he likes. I'm guessing he doesn't like anyone yet that way. Girls mature faster than guys do. Wait until 9th grade, and things may be massively different.
