writes: hey everyone, this could be a really silly question but i need help, 2 weeks on friday i slept with this lad i kno but i was jus startin my period at the time i wasn't bleeding loads jus a little spots anyway i slept with him that nyt and he came inside me, cause i was startin my period we never used protection i jus need to know whether i could be pregnant im only 18 and think i have my whole life in front of me dont really want a baby jus yet, and my family are like against abortions so dont know what to do please help???

reader, anonymous, writes (10 March 2010): i think some of the comments that have been left on here are not helpful and were very sarchastic. some of you answered this poor girl appaulingly when she needs help, and some have you, to be `quite blunt` have given her some rediculous answers.
she did not ask if she had caught an std, she asked if she could be pregnant, so stop putting more worrying thoughts into her head.
and to jump to the conclusion that she is not in a relationship with this boy is also wrong, and irrelevant to what she has asked.
in aswer to you question, anonomouse girl, there IS a chance you might be pregnant, but no more or no less than anybody else. may i advise you to get a test , and if it turns out you are pregnant, - dont panic! there are plenty of options. if you feel you want to keep the baby, that is entirely your choice, im sure you will have friends and family to support you. if you decide against this, there is the option of abortion, which, depending on how early the stage is of your pregnancy, can be done with just an injection. if left later, this can be done via operation.
you could also consider adoption and foster care.
but just remember, you may NOT be pregnant. you have just as much chance as anybody does when having unprotected sex. and dont let people have a go at you for it, im sure evyone who has left rather sarchastic comments has , at one time or another , had unprotected sex. but from personal experience, i will advise you to use a condom in future. best of luck xx

reader, anonymous, writes (7 March 2008): It is impossible to get pregnant whilst on your period! So stop worrying. The human body works in ways u cant imagine. U can only get pregnant whilst your ovulating which happens 14 days after your period! Trust me, im a mum of twins and expecting my third.

While you are at it, I suggest you get tested at the same time.
If you have unprotected sex with a guy, you can get a disease, including AIDS. Is that what you want?
Get tested and use protection next time.

The best (or in your case worse!) chance of getting pregnent is the few days before your period. There could be a possibility you could be you should take a test. This will put your mind at rest!! I have been in a similar situation. Take the test ASAP, until you do you will drive yourself crazy!! Susan x x

Well, im going to be blunt. There is a BIG change you could be preganunt. You had unprotected sex AND he came inside you. Youve left it late as well. You can just hope you arnt pregnaunt, you can also just hope you havnt caught an STD, it doesnt sound like your in a relationship with him so he could have anything. You could have got pregnaunt and caught aids. Go and get some tests done love just to make sure.

Within 72 hours you can take the emergency contraceptive pill, after that, you can have something called a IUD fitted, this is effective within 5 days.
You need to find out if you are pregnant as soon as possible. If you are less than 8 weeks pregnant you also have an option for an abortion pill.
Having sex that in to your period does signifigantly reduce the chances of a pregnancy but people do fall pregnant this way sometimes. I hope it works out for the best for you.

No matter what, when the vagina and penis come together in a sexual way...then you are at risk of getting pregnant, dear. The best you can do now is just wait. Tough advice, I know, but the truth. Please, please, please, from now on...use protection!

you can still get pregnant when your on your period i know as thiis happened to me you need to get a test as soon as you can and then you can decide your options, if its negative please make sure you use protection its better to be safe than sorry...good luck

I know how you must feel... i went through the same emotions 8 months ago, and as it turned out i was pregnant... i am only 15!!!Unfortunately, you could still get pregnant, as there is no sure time during your cycle where you can't get pregnant.However, it may be comforting to know you are less likely to get pregnant now than you would be if you had had sex a couple of weeks earlier. If i were you, i would wait a few weeks and then take a test. Try not to worry too much before then. As your family is against abortion, as mine is, you will have a lot to think about if you are pregnant. There are many options open to you, including keeping the baby, putting it up for adoption etc.I hope you dont stress out too much... i know you will stress out a bit. If you trust your parents, i also suggest you try and talk to them.all the best honey, let me know how you get on!
