I replied because you make me smile and i'm happy around you. To him the answer I gave wasn't a good enough answer. What does he expect me to say? Express my real emotions? Chamoritta_Cutie83 is verified as being by the original poster of the questionThanks to all of you who responded to my question. He actually did want me to express my true emotions. Nothing is wrong with expressing my emotions. I'm just having a rough time opening up to him.

The answer you gave was the truth and truth hurts but hey he makes you happy and you like to be around him so focus on whats good and love will come in time, it could be worse you could be unhappy and he could make you sad,
God luck

Yes, he probably wanted to hear that you were in love with him and felt secure. Guys are very sensitive, believe it or not and we love to be shown affection. We like getting told that we are loved and needed, not just that we make you happy and smile.
I asked my fiancee why she loves me. She said she didn't know. She just does.
That hurt!

Maybe. A circus clown can make you smile and make you happy to be around him. Unless your boyfriend is a circus clown, he was probably expecting a little more than your response. What's so wrong in expressing your real emotions?
