writes: The other day, my cleaner accused me of taking money from her bag. I didnt do this, but my parents refuse to believe me. I have now been totally outcast from my family and i don't know how to make them believe that it wasnt me. Please someone help me becasue its breaking up my family.

reader, anonymous, writes (4 October 2006): This seems like a very dramatic, serious reaction from your family over this issue, dear. Quite often when family members react this way, they feel they have a substantial reason. Are you positive that something has 'not' occurred in your past history that may compell them to mistrust you? I would think hard on this and then perhaps sit down with your folks and ask them why they are accusing you of doing this. Families usually support and investigate such accusations before jumping to conclusions in order to protect a loved one from that type of adversity. Your family is not doing this. Please talk lovingly and calmly...then after you ask them why they are not supporting..sit back and really listen to what they tell you. I wish you the best of luck, dear.

The same thing happend to me when i was about 13 years old..but it was my own father who accusedme. I kept my innocence untill he made me stay home from school untill i tell the "truth" the morning i was supposed to go to school i "ran away" ..to my grandmas house..i know it wasnt a good place but i felt safer. So he calls her and asks her if im there and she tells him that im safe...30 min. later he shows up..Pissed..and beats me for an hour straigt...my whole body was brused and i was swollen all over..eventually i had to lie and tell him i did it..but to tell u the truth i had no choice because he wouldnt stop until i told the "truth"..i was 13...and delt with it...tell them that ur their son/daoughter and if they believe the cleaner over u , why dont they trust u,,have they no faith in you..Talk to them!!!! you have to
