writes: About a month ago my boyfriend and I had sex and the condom split - so obviously I got the morning after pill. A few days after this I started "spotting", I went to the doctor and they said it was fine. But the other day we had sex, however this time it was unprotected - he was inside me for about 30seconds, but he didnt come or anything and he said it was fine so this time I didnt get the morning after pill. Which was probably silly of me.This was about a week ago, and now I am about 5 days late for my period. I dont know if this could just be another affect of my morning after pill or wether I could actually be pregnant. We are both certain that he didnt come inside me, but I dont know.Has anyone else experienced a late period after the morning after pill? Thanks

About the 30 seconds of unprotected sex... you only really have to worry if your boyfriend masturbated earlier that day and hadn't urinated yet. Pre-cum comes from your Cowper's glands--no sperm is made or stored there. The only way pre-cum can have sperm is if there is residue sperm in the urethra left over from a previous ejaculation. Urine often rids of the residue sperm. There has been several small research groups that have found that residue sperm in the pre-cum is often immotile. Most pre-cum have absolutely no sperm at all. However, there is still the possibility that your boyfriend could have cum early--everything depends on how much you trust him, and how much he understands his own body. But, based on what you have written, I wouldn't say there is much to worry about. And try not to worry! It'll only put off your period for longer!

The morning after pill is concidered an "emergency" contraception. Not birth control. It is for the rare occations that accidents happen. Your old enough to know that even though he didn't ejaculate inside of you.. There is a precumm that comes out during sex, and is just as likly to find its way up to the uterus. You should definatly see a doc, and while you are there, maybe discuss other forms of birth control. A good choice is called "depo pervera" or simply "depo" it is a shot that you get every 3 months. It has a very high success rate, and bonus.. No more periods!

no matter whether he came inside u or not, theres stil a seriously high risk of pregnancy! ALWAYS use protection, cos STIs are a risk too!!
I had an accident a few months back (condom split!) and had to take the morning after pill. my period came 2 weeks early too, only 2 weeks after my other period. But the pill affects everyone in different ways. A common side effect is a late or early period. I'd recommend seeing a doc if it doesnt come soon...and mayb visit a clinic to get checked for any infections due to the lack of protection...?!

When I had to have the morning after pill, my period was really early. I only had a 2 week gap and then I was back on my period.
Maybe you should get a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side. You're probably not because he didn't cum inside you but it's better to know than to not know. At least you know where you stand after you've taken a test.
