I'm almost 15 and this is really embarrassing, but i have hair like everywhere on my body-not just like legs n my armpits but like on my back and my stomach. i can't do normal things like change in the locker room- i always wear a tank top. i can't wear the bathing suits or dresses or shirts that i want to and all my friends can. And i feel so embarrassed. laser hair removal is out of the question @ this age and i don't want 2 have to wait for like 10 years or something. Please help! n don't try 2 tell me it'll go away because i know it won't. Reply to this Question Share |

Please please do not shave it! And try not to wax it either - with the exception of your underarms and legs (plus bikini line if you want to). Shaving will only make it grow back stubbly and rough, and often can come back darker so it will definitely make it worse, so please dont shave it! As for waxing - it is an option but it is best to get a beautician to do it for you as you will get a better result than if you try to do it at home.
Now I am 22 and have had problems with dark hair on my body since I was about 12 - I know how you feel and it is horrible. For the hair on my face (I actually have dark hair on my top lip making it look like a mustache, not nice!) so I use facial bleach which you can buy in pharmacies or stores that sell make up and other beauty products. It is very simple to use and apply - you mix the bleach with a accelerator product and then apply it to the dark hair on your face, leave it for 10mins and then wash it off. Then it will basically just bleach the hair so it is light and not noticeable anymore. Make sure you do buy a special facial bleach though - this product is very different to normal household bleach so please make sure you buy a bleach specially formulated for your face as your skin on your face is very different to the rest of your body.
As for the rest of the hair on your body (where there is too much to bleach) then I think you need to see a doctor. I am actually using a contraceptive pill which improves acne and reduces the levels of testosterone in the body which causes dark hair. It has not made it go away completely but my hair is finer and not as dark as it used to be! Your doctor will be able to help you - there are a number of things they can do to try and balance out your hormones which should improve the situation with your dark hair. So make an appointment to see your doctor as soon as possible, they will be more than happy to help you because it is affecting your confidence and your happiness, so they will be able to prescribe you something that will help.
I know you didnt want to hear this but dark hair does get finer and lighter as you get older. My hair is not as bad now I am in my 20's and I have learnt to live with it much better than I could when I was a teenager. So keep in mind that in a few years, it will get better. I know it is really hard, and I remember feeling like I was a total freak because I was the only person with all this hair and no-one else had that problem.
So all you can do for now is go to your doctor, start waxing legs and underarms, and try using facial bleach if there are any small areas of dark hair that you want to lighten.
I hope this helps and good luck!

I turn 15 in 30 days and im a dude...i think that you should just shave it off and have mom shave off what you can't reach on your back, then ehen it grows back, just do it again.

Dark hair is just more noticeable, but if you try neet foam on the major stomache, chest and back areas, it might ease your suffering. Most women shave their legs, so that's common at least. I heard waxing can be quite painful and easily cause bacterial infections, even fatal ones, so I would steer clear of that part if I were you. I don't know what else might help you, other than try neet..

Also I thinkit maybe a good idea to go to the doctors and get it checked out just in case something is not right as sometimes alot of body hair on a woman could be a result of a hormone or other problem.
