Good presents are in the thought behind it. Trust me, I've definitely spent tons of money on some guys who liked the gifts alright, but the guys that I spent time on and got something personal, they always loved the gift that much more. Let's see, a collector's edition of any favorite movie or music, a picture of the two of you together in a nice frame with a sweet note on the back, I like your hemp bracelet idea (if he's the kind of guy who wears jewelry. If he's not and you get it for him, don't be offended if he just keeps it on his bedside table! Still means he's thinking of you!).
You could make him a batch of his favorite cookies or you could make a dozen cupcakes and spell out "I love you", or an inside joke or something on top of them. You could get him tickets to a game or concert. You could buy a disposable camera and take him out for a really fun day together... take pictures the whole time and at the end of the day, take it to an hour developer while you guys get coffee or dinner.
There are some ideas... good luck, sweetness!
