A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hi agony aunts. I had planned to go as a fairy for halloween this year but at the last minute have decided it might be really unusual to go as Elvis. My halloween party is on Friday - and I need help pulling together a costume FAST! Help! Tips and ideas?

I don't need a wig, I have very dark short hair which I'm going to wax in to an Elvis style hair do - the main problem is costume. I can't find any ladies elvis outfits on the net - any ideas how I can improvise?

Ideally, I'd like to go as the trademark Elvis in all white, but if I need to, maybe I could do jailhouse Elvis? Help :) xx

BigSis agony auntOkay my Teddy Bear....

First off...What you need to do is go to a craft shop, they all sell jars or packets of coloured gemstones, they can either be sewn or glued.

White jacket: Get yourself in and out of charity shops (if you're not too proud that is) and look for a white jacket, you can always alter it to fit you if it's too big. Look out for a wide..white belt too, if there's no studs on it, then buy some and stick them on.

White trousers: I'm sure if you look around you can find a pair, Even of they're tracky bottoms. You got a Primark near you? You need them to be flares...and I mean BIG flares, so you'll have to slit the sides up to just about couple of inches below the knee. Get some material, red or silver or anything bright and sew it to make the extension on the flares.

Shoes or boots, I'll leave them up to you.

I mentioned Primark, they may even have white jackets in there and their jewellery is really cheap and really blingy too, or even the pound shops sell costume jewellery.

So my little Wooden Heart, get out there and get shopping. It doesn't have to be expensive, you'd have paid a fortune if you'd hired a costume or even bought one on the net.

Now you've got about 6 days left, it's Saturday tomorrow, and in most towns it's their market day.

The greatest bit about doing this whole thing is, you can brag to your mates and tell them that you actually made the outfit yourself.

Best of luck and let us know how you got on, I guarantee you, your mates...will be 'All Shook Up' and 'Loving You' and they'll 'Just Can't Help Believin' 'The Wonder of You'.

BigSis
