I have no issue at all about it but the one thing that seems to worry me the most is my question: "what are the risks of him dieing?" now I know for some of you this might not be a big deal since it's the safest military branch there is but seriously, help! This is freaking me out so badly to a point where I can't sleep at night from the crying :(

Your fear is totally natural for loved ones going into service.
Look at it this way and I dont mean this nasty but your boyfriend could die as a civillian too unexpected.
Sure the risk of combat is slightly higher but the USAF will not deploy an untrained member, he will be in good hands with the airforce and have a good team with him.
Try to defocus on this and focus on the good parts of your relationship together.
