Heylo,
The first thing u shud do, as freaky and as hard as it will be, is to go face him. He has the answers that you need, although an HIV test is a good thing, HIV has a window of three months before it becomes detectable within your blood stream. So he can tell you wat he did wen with whom and u can know wether u nd to go for another test in three months.
Another thing is that, scientists have discovered that there are people called carriers who have the disease but it never shows BUT they can pass it on2 other people (am seriusly depressin ain't I?) so after this incident i wud suggest NO MATTER how well u know the dude use protection, not 4 the guys protection as much as for your own personal protection!!!

You probably do not have it but remind how serious it could be next time ur exposed, u should take a test just in case yo may need medication and treatment I have read some spanish articles and u can have a normal life for a very long period of time is you take care of yourself and have a healthy life and habits so do not panic and please always use protection and try to meet your sexual partners a bit if possible just to know who ur dealing with, this same case happened to a lovely ad pretty italian friend of mine, she was ok but u see thing things happen to the best people we know so we should be on guard
hope this helps

Ive just looked at some websites about HIV and they are very informative. I would suggest that you look at the ones that Dragonette gave you and there are loads more as well. Its great that you're getting a test and they will help to put your mind at rest about this as well. Please let us know how it goes okay and good luck x.

First of all: it's great that you're going to test yourself. I can understand that you are scared now while you're waiting for test results and I hope and pray that your tests will come back negative.
If you turn out to have HIV there is supposed to be some kind of medicine which halts the further spreading of the virus, but you will need to take this medication for the rest of your life.
Anyways, if you want to know more about HIV you can check out these websites:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiv (about HIV itself)
http://www.epigee.org/health/hiv_treatment.html (about the treatment)
I really hope everything will work out for you.
Best regards,
Dragonette

Okay first of all try not to panic and get a HIV test straight away. When they give you the test they offer you counselling. It's unlikely that you'll have caught HIV from one time sex with the guy but even if you have it's very important to remember that HIV isn't a death sentence. They can do loads to treat it these days and most sufferers live a long, healthy life. Take the test so that you know either way and remember to ALWAYS practise safe sex in the future.
