Hiya I think the phrase used in the below answer hits the nail on the head! Give him something that money just can't buy. Something with some sentimental value for the both of you.
I'd handmake his pressie if I were you. You could make him a video (I gave my other half a homemade video for last valentines and I really enjoyed making it) make a music tape... a collage of photos seemed like a really good idea. So did planning a romatic trip with you, you could cook him a really special meal, give him a massage, you can dress up for him.....
Memories and special moments spent together are priceless

Hey Anon,
You could give him something that money couldn't buy. What about a collage of your pictures together? Like from throughout your relationship. It would be nice to have all of those memories framed to look at whenever he wants. Plus it would be fun to put together!
If you have enough money, you could book a weekend getaway somewhere romantic. Then you would not only have fun together while you're there, but you would have fond memories, as well.
Take care.
