That must be wrong!* Their kids are up and eagerAt dawn on Christmas dayGifts unwrapped and openSocks again from Auntie May*In the oven, turkey bastesWith no gobble, in it went“Alas!” her husband statesbut she knows it wasn’t meant*The Christmas dinner’s overThe Queen’s speech, God, it boresIn snow, the kids are playingHubby sits and gently snores*Outside the snow is lyingKids’ snowman on the lawnBut all is quiet and peacefulThis day is almost gone*Another Christmas overShe misses those not hereRemembers happy timesHer eyes, they shed a tear.*You know she’ll never wonderbut will she ever know?A lonely heart passed hereAnd left a footprint in the snow.
