writes:Hi, i'm in 10th grade just about 16. there is this guy at my school and for the past months he has been 'joking around'.starting in grade 9 when i first met him, i was in one of his classes and during that class he bugged me and told his friends to do the same (he comes out of no where and pretends to shoot me... i just dont like it). so the begining of grade 10 i found out i have aallll my classes with him, both semesters and he also knows. he constantly 'shoots' me since he knows i don't like it and now he scares me.he now comes up behind me whe i'm at my locker (his is 5down from mine) and scares me and I natuarly freak out a little. he laughs with his friends afterwards. he also just stares at me in class, he knows i hate when people stare at me.once he scared me and after his friend said, 'aaauuhh! we didn't vedio tape it!' and the boy who scares me siad 'auh! and half smiled' so later that morning he came from no where and scared me so bad, and him and his friend were laughing because his friend caught it on my 'attackers' ipod vedio camera. and that was 4weeks ago maybe, but he still hasn't taken it off, and to add to that he took a picture of me while i was frowning, so it is not a very pretty picture. but he laughed and kept it on his ipod.one of the last things that happened was that my friend took my cell phone and texted him (by accident -- long story) that 'when you pushed me against my locker you smelt good' and so i texted him really quickly after that saying 'that was NOT me it was my friend' his reply to that was 'I knew you had a soft spot for me'...the thing is that some of my friends think he is flirting with me because after he scares or 'shoots' me he laughs or makes jokes and i do take it well i guess. but i think that maybe he is just trying to impress his friends, by scaring me? i don't really know. is he flirting?! im so confused.

 It sounds like a mixture of both. Truthfully, the guy sounds a bit immature, but every guy has his own style of expressing himself. Some guys talk casually and smile, others hit on the girl, and than other guys pick on her. He wants your attention, and is being encouraged by his friends. It could be that they all think you're attractive, and this guy is showing them that he can score your attention and reaction. I've had some guys flirt with me before, and each did it differently. Don't panic; just give it some time. Sooner or later, once he is sure he can talk to you, he'll do it. If you like him, show it! Smile when he "shoots" you, and laugh with him. It'll make him feel more confident; it will also show him that you think he's funny. Try it out!
