Hi, im a 15 year old female and a virgin and want to have sex with my boyfriend soon. He's 16 but has had sex alot of times.

He knows that i am a virgin and says that when we do it, he will take it slowly for me and make sure that i'm okay with it.

I hope you can help me with these questions:

1. Do i need to shave "Down there"?

2. Do i need to use anything while having sex?

3. Does it hurt for a firt-timer?

If you can give me any more information about Sex and first-timers, please do say :)

Thankyou :) xx

Find a much older guy to have your first sex with. A boy could hurt you a man wont. Make sure the sex is planed for all night not a quickie. You will find after 4 or 5 hours of sex you will love it.

men prefer no hair. plus it looks good.

i say use protection if you dont want a baby.

you dont need lube you will end up wet through foreplay.

my first time i felt no pain just pleasure. if you are lucky enough you will have an orgasm. but all women are different.

lastly enjoy yourself! sexual activity is about having fun.

A female reader, old-spinstah United Kingdom +, writes (12 November 2009):

lubricant (or "lube") is like a thin clear jelly. It's designed to make it easier to slide the penis into the vagina. The vagina produces its own natural lubricant, especially when a woman is sexually aroused but for some women their own natural lubricant is not quite enough and an artificial lubricant (like KY jelly) can reduce friction, chafing and soreness.

Thankyou so much for you help and advice.

Can i ask, what exactly is a lubricant? Is it some form of jelly that helps with sex?

A female reader, old-spinstah United Kingdom +, writes (12 November 2009):

I'll start by reminding you that your boyfriend will be breaking the law if he has sexual intercourse with you before your 16th birthday. This could make things very difficult for him if anyone finds out. If you can wait until you're 16 I strongly advise you to. If your boyfriend is a good bloke he will understand.

That said, I do feel I have to answer your questions just incase you don't take that piece of advice.

1) No you don't have to shave down there. Shaving is purely personal preference. It can also make the the skin very sore and bumpy which is not at all comfortable. If you shave, do because YOU want to - not because somebody else thinks you should. Some guys have a preference but most aren't particularly fussy.

2) YES!!!! You will need to use a CONDOM!! This is an absolute necessity. If you don't take any other piece of advice you MUST take this one. Condoms will not only protect you from pregnancy but will protect you from many sexually transmitted diseases. This is particularly important since he has had sex many times before so you can't be 100% sure that he hasn't contracted one. NEVER agree to sleep with a guy who refuses to use one. You can buy condoms from supermarkets and chemists or get them free from family planning clinics (even though you are under 16) Buy a well known brand like Durex, Mates or Trojans. Read the leaflet in the packet carefully.

You might want to invest in some lubricant as well. Use one that is designed for sexual activity such as KY jelly or the one made by Durex. Don't use Vaseline or baby oil or anything as these can damage condoms.

3) A lot of girls experience some pain their first time or even ther first few times. Most find it uncomfortable and don't enjoy it in the same way that they eventually come to enjoy sex. It's more about the emotional closeness.

Please make sure that this is something that you really want to do. Really have a think about it. You only get to lose your virginity once so make sure that it's with someone who's really worth it. There are loads of people out there (myself included) who really wished we'd waited until someone better can along....

A reader, anonymous, writes (12 November 2009):

ok, first things first. The responsibility of sex is huge! You are underage for a start which means you boyfriend could potentially get into pretty big trouble if anything were bad were to happen. You need to be clear about the possible consequences it could have before going ahead with something like this.

As for your questions, number 1, entirely up to you. Shaving isn't the best option to be honest. It can cause rashes and can be pretty uncomfortable after a couple of days. If you really have to, I'd consider other options before breaking out the razor.

Number 2, PROTECTION! That's the main one. Don't really know what you mean by "anything" but condoms are a must.

Number 3, everyone is different. It can be sore for some people but others find it painless. It just depends.

Hope this helps, but I really do hope you know what you're getting into. I personally would wait until you're legal at least xx
