i have a daughter who is nearly five and im expecting my second child in sept. When my lil girl was a baby i began weening her at four months using baby rice and the like however she never seemed to be full ! she had baby rice and porridge and all manner of other pre made jars and pots but never seemed satisfied or even as if she was enjoying them. in the end i invested in a hand held blender and literally blitzed up a kiddie sized portion of whatever meal we were having, be it a full roast a shepherds pie or spag bol. she loved it and i never looked back.its so much cheaper which is a bonus and i found that she is nowhere near as fussy about her food as many of my friends kids who were 'jar' fed also try offering her finger foods as snacks my daughter loved toast and marmite cut into soldiers and carrot or cucumber sticks :) hope this helps

Maybe you could try and give her 2 fromage frais - if they are the small petit filous type, my baby could eat a 7 months size car and two of these afterwards - your baby will let you know when to stop as he/she will start to refuse food. I think the crushed rusk in the bottle and rusks per se are out of date nowadays as they are just sugar and refined carbohydrates dressed up with multivitamins. There are loads of great websites with recipies and feeding advice you may want to try : babycentre.co.uk, netmums.co.uk, mumsnet.co.uk to name a few. Also your Health Visitor will have loads of advice too.My daughter is 9 months and she has (following Annabel Karmel book!):Breakfast: cereal and fruit or toast and fruitMid-morning snack - BreastfeedLunch - meat/chicken/fish and veggies with sweet potato/pasta/rice followerd by a yoghurt for puddingAfternoon snack - BreastfeedDinner - similar to lunch combo (but obviously different combination to lunch :-) )Bedtime - Breastfeed

Hi sweetie my daughter is nearly 11 months old and has been solid fed since she was 4 months old and i have given her everything and anything, she loves fruit, veg, fish, chicken, choclate, biscuits and everything normal adults eat.
Your baby isnt allowed eggs till 6 months unless there is an egg allergy in yours or the fathers family. nuts not till shes 5 at minimum and i think that about covers it lol.
Don't try to just give her fruit and veg because when she grows up she will not want it.
I give my daughter weetabix in the morning (9am) using her baby milk, sandwiches at lunch time (1pm), the same as what i eat for dinner for her dinner at (5pm) then her night time bottle at (9pm) then bed.
But take it slowly and see how you go :):)

I was told to start with cereal, then green vegetables then yellow vegetables, then various meats and sprinkle some fruit in between. Babies will love the fruit and not eat the vegetables so make sure you get those in them first. Also most babies like yellow vegetables best but if you feed them yellow all the time they can actually get a yellow tinge in the whites of their eyes as well as their skin. Also you will need to bone up on your airplane sound affects. Good luck.
