writes: My boyfriend constantly promises me little things like giving me back massages and gives me his word he will do it. i say 'are you sure? you promise?' and he says yes, and he even offers to do it for however long i want!Then, EVERY single night, he says 'oh, i'm tired.. i have a stomach ache.. i don't feel good..' it's always sooooome new excuse! why does he offer if he won't go through with it? am i overreacting? i am just very annoyed! what do i do? It may be that at the time he feels like he wants to do something nice for you, then just can't be bothered to put the effort in.
I suggest that tou treat him the same, offer him something that you know that he will really enjoy, make promises all day and then say I've got a headache or that you are tired. Do this a couple of times then explain why you did it.
Tit for tat doesn't always work, but hopefully he will realise how annoying it is to be promised something that never comes and either stop making false promises or keep his word.
