And I'm dreading the appointment where they have to check you down there. I'm so uncomfortable with people seeing my body. My mom said she had to do it at 16 and I almost am 16! Was anyone else ever nervous about this?! I think i could handle it if I could wear a blind fold so I wouldn't see, but I can't exactly do that.

I think that everybody gets uncomfortable with doctors poking and prodding and looking around down there. But, the reality is that these doctors do nothing all day but look at vaginas. Unless yours is plaid with a propeller sticking out of it, it's not going to look much different than the thousands of vaginas the doctor has seen before.
I was totally, totally nervous but had a good doctor who made me feel as comfortable as I could be in that situation. Hopefully, you have a nice doctor who will make sure you're doing okay. And you don't need a blindfold - just squeeze your eyes shut!!
I remember my first time getting checked out. As soon as she looked, I said, "do I look normal?" and she laughed and said, "completely normal". A sigh of relief for me, and then I could relax. Let's face it, it's pretty unlikely that she'll say, "OH MY GOD! I've never seen anything like it. The horrors, the horrors!!"
So grit your teeth and know that you're doing the right thing for your body. And, this is just the beginning, you've got tons of these appointments left to go to for the rest of your life. So, this one will break the ice and you'll realize it's not so bad. Good luck, sweetness!!!

why would they check you down there? they never did for me. but if they do want to you have two options. you either take adeep breath and be braveand go with it... or when it comes to it you say no. no one can make you. not your doctor or your parents
