I don't know what to do, I think I may be related to this guy that I've fallen for.

So if you can understand this, please tell me if we're related or not.

He is my:

Dad's uncle's wife's sister's son.

So, my Dad has an uncle named "Bob". Bob is my great uncle. Bob married a woman named "Sue". Sue is my great-aunt by marriage. Sue has a sister named "Jenny". Jenny has a son named "Rob"

And Rob is the one I like.

Technically I'm not even related to Sue, because she's just my great aunt through marriage, but it still feels like I'm related to them. Help!

Hi, thanks for the replies.

To answer a few questions, we were actually set up by Sue....I was just worried that maybe we ARE related and she didn't realize it. But I guess if his aunt is trying to set us up, she must not see us as related.

And nope, we were not raised together or anything. The first time I even met him was last year.

stina agony auntHello Anon,

If you're not related by blood, like what it seems from your description, then I don't think there's any problem with it. I mean, as far as having kids and such (not sure how old you are). And if your family or anyone else doesn't like it if you two hit it off as a couple, try not to pay attention. You wouldn't be doing anything "wrong."

Take care.

Helen1986 agony auntI do not really understand the family tree so I cannot help you. What I do know though is that you are only related through marriage, if anything at all.

So I dont think there is a problem with you seeing this person. Goodluck and ignore what others say its none of there buisness.

Lemonpixie agony auntOk, so you're not related by blood, so its all good from that stand point, but were you raised with this person like a cousin or family member? and would any of your family have a problem with it? I have cousins in which I am in no way a blood relation but we were raised as family so its like a big no no... so keep that in mind. I say we should be able to love who we want, but if you are worried about issues arising with other family members you might want to think it all the way through.
