Does my guy really have no time to spend with me, or is he telling me something else?

He say's he needs a break. I have been seeing a wonderful man, who says he loves me, and I know I love him. It seems now he wants a break, he says he has a lot going on in his life right now,(work, kids and family)and does not feel he can give me the time I deserve with him.

I am aware how hard it is to spend time together with his schedule, and I am fine with that. However I cannot understand how he is willing to just stop the one good thing going on in his life. How should I take that comment, should I allow some time to go by? Should I suggest we just slow down? I would hate to lose the one I feel is right for me.

Rainee agony aunt Your statements pose a problem. You say he's got work, kids, and family that are keeping him busy. But then you also ask "how he is willing to just stop the one good thing going on in his life?"... Does he have a terrible job? Are his kids little brats that no one could ever love? Does he have the Manson family? Or do you just have a high opinion of yourself?

I know you don't want to hear this, but it's possible he's scared of having someone as wonderful as you in his life, just as it is also possible that those things which you give little meaning to are actually keeping him busy. Give him some space. If he really loves you as you say he does, then he'll be back to his "one good thing" as soon as he's finished up some business.

If he's saying that he want a break then tell him he can have one. If he truly is the one for you then you will get back together. I know that's easy for me to say but its true. You can't force him to stay if he doesn't want to.

Sometimes, men get scared. They have a good thing going and it scares them. They realize that the girl that they are dating might be "the one" and they freak out. Of course, they will never admit it. Often, they need a break to sort out their feelings, to analyze the situation.

Other times, men want to break up and use this line as the way to do it.

The hard thing is to figure out what your man meant. If he wants a break the only thing you can do is to give it to him. The thing you have to decide is if you will be at home waiting for him to come back from the break or if you will be out on the town!
