writes: Does it mean anything if a guy asks you if the man you are with is your boyfriend? On two separate occasions I have been out for a drink with two different male friends of mine and this guy that I like, has asked me both times if my friends are my boyfriend. The second time he asked, I told him that I don’t have a boyfriend and he then asked me why. I explained that I had recently ended a long term relationship. He then asked me if I was ok and if I was over him. I said “yes”. He is also quite flirtatious with me. For example, he will put his arm around me, give me a kiss on the cheek when I leave and compliment me on my looks.I’m wary of reading too much into this though as it could just be that he is a flirt with other women too. How do I know this or if he is genuinely interested in me? I’m really bad at deciphering the signs! Any ideas?

i think it sounds like he likes you. if you like him too i would flirt around him and see what he does. to me it sounds like a classic line to check if a person you like is available for you.

Of course he wants to know whether you were available. If you don't care about a woman, we don't usually care whether she has someone or not :-), or what she looks like, other than to have fun :-), as in "guys, guess what: she came in that awful red dress again, ha-ha-ha! You mean the one with those laces? YEP!"

He was probably asking if those guys were your boyfriends to see if you were available for him to date, he probably likes you. Unless this is a very common thing and he flirts with everyone, it sounds like he's interested in you. I would flirt with him too and see where the relationship goes from there.
