A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hi ok i know some of you will read this and think theres nothing we can say to help but please try. Right it all started off as a crush last november on a guy whos in all my classes but now ts developed into something more. he's alwasy said hes never been bothered about a gf and i know he's had one in the past-all this has come up in general conversation he hasn't actually said it because of this. Infact he doesn't even know, as far as i know. Just theres something different about him, although we don't talk much he always used to stare at me and seemed to just say things to me without any reason. I could be reading to much into all of these signs but something seems different. Two of our friends accused me of etxting him and liking him and although i didn't really deny it to them i didn't admit it because i didn't want him to find out. So i'm wondering if they've told him and he's stopped liking me or something. hes just very different. plus i've had quite a bit of trouble with the class as they just are nasty to me in general as i don't always fit in and although he does laugh along with them he doesn't join in as much adn did defend me when one person made a big fuss over the fact i got a better grade. but he doesn't do it as much as them but he used to constantly stare at me and stuff and some signs have hinted that he likes me but then again thinking about it theres always another side to everything. Its just getting to hard now i have to see him 4 days a week and we all hang round together and i'm seriously falling in love with him. i've never liked lads never wanted a bf until i met him its just soemthing tells me theres more to him than meets the eye. Either this is just his way of being or he does like me in that way or he does like me as a friend he just doesn't know what to do. One of my friends has said maybe the way he is holds him back like he never got to see his last gf n he don't believe in sex before marriage and stuff so is it just him being nice or is there something there? He isn't really shy but hes not the most confident person, very independent and everything abit like me so whats going off. How can i stop myself falling in love with him its all going to far, i suppose all these little signs are just keeping my hopes up but i'm just letting it get outta control.

Emmy-Lou agony auntYou may not like this answer, but you do want us to be truthful.

It seems to me there isn't any actual signs that he is feeling what your feeling. I know it's hard to hear, and I may be completely wrong.

The best way for you to this problem is to ask.

Be straight and tell him you feel. The worst that can happen is that he won't feel the same. But would you not rather know instead of hiding your secret.

Hope this helps and good luck.
