A male reader, Dante Hunniton United States +, writes (21 November 2012):

Hi guys,

Male Circumcision is the removal of the Prepuce; or the skin covering the glands penis. It is not a necessity, and is only preformed for religious or cultural reasons. The foreskin is poorly understood by modern medicine, but has been shown to have high density of sensory receptors (helps you feel pleasure) as well as protective features.

To answer your question now:

NO, Circumcision (usually does not effect penis size).

First off, I read the article in the first answer (posted 2006) and contacted the author (primary author)of the paper that was quoted a couple years back. There was no cause and effect between male circumcision and Penis size. That is a misconception which is spread about the internet. Correlation is NOT Cause and Effect, just mere coincidence.

Second, yes, there are methods to reverse circumcision (in a manner of speaking). There are several devices available that stretch the skin around the shaft of the penis over the glands to mimic the foreskin in its natural state. this becomes permanent and most women cannot tell the difference. However, the foreskin is a complex element of anatomy and is composed of several different tissues, therefore, complete regeneration of sensitivity and tether cannot be regained with any "traction" type or stretching devices. Traction devices are those that stretch the penis, or skin on the the penis. Examples are Andro Penis; by andro medical, and Forebells; I forget who makes them...

The second option is surgery, this has become more readily available in recent years, but is still not as safe as the non surgical methods outlined above. I would recommend those who are concerned read up on the issue in medical and scientific journals, and try the non surgical methods before trying anything else.

Traction is a proven way to lengthen the penis or stretch the skin to mimic a foreskin over the glands. a detailed outline of the method was published by the department of urology in University of Taurin Italy.

You may have seen I mentioned "Usually". Circumcision can go wrong, (again not a well understood part of anatomy). This can lead to life long problems that can only be corrected with surgery. Another problem is a deformed or what my be considered an abnormally small penis. Many of these issues can leave the child or young man mentally scarred for life. Seriously review these factors and risks before considering the procedure for your self or others.

It can make the penis slightly smaller.Surgical penile enlargement, also called phalloplasty, can increase the lenght and width.

Does circumcision affect penis size? A recent article found that the mean penis erect length was 16cm, i.e., about 6 3/8 inches. It further found that the average erect penis length in circumcised men was 3/8" shorter than in normal men, viz:- Richters J, Gerofi J, Donovan B. "Are condoms the right size(s)? a method for self-measurement of the erect penis." Venereology 1995; 8(2):77-81.

Abstract:- "As part of a study investigating the adequacy of the Australian Standard for latex condoms, we arranged for self-measurement of the erect penis by a volunteer sample of 156 men, predominantly Caucasian. The kits contained illustrated instructions and paper tapes which the respondents mailed back to us marked with creases to indicate their dimensions. Mean penile length was 16.0 cm (95% confidence interval (CI) 12.2-19.8 cm) and circumferences were: base 13.5 cm (95%CI 0.7-16.2); shaft just below coronal ridge 12.4 cm (95%CI=10.0-14.8); glans 11.9 cm (95%CI 9.6-14.2). Repeat measurements of 15 men showed intraclass correlations (r) of 0.90 for length, 0.68 for base circumference, 0.87 behind ridge and 0.87 glans. Non-users of condoms were more likely to have narrower penises. In a subsample of 66 men who reported on perceived condom comfort, men with wider penises (base circumference) were more likely to find condoms too tight. Men with longer penises were more likely to complain that condoms were too short. Circumcised men had shorter erect penises than (p0.05). The paper recommends that the measurement technique described in this study should be applied to other populations, and that condoms should be manufactured and marketed in a wider range of lengths and widths."

A female reader, cutiepie +, writes (29 December 2006):

circumsision doesn't effect penis size, most women are happy with a penis of average size so don't try to enlarge it unles it really bothers you as some women find a large penis painfull!

I really wouldn't worry about this too much but if it is something that really bothers u there are supplements availible, I would strongly advise that you stay away from pills from the internet as the sellers are only in it for profit and don't care about your wellbeing, the safest route is to ask in a local health food store for herbal dietry suplements that will help, don't be embarased they hear this everyday!

good luck,

but you are fine the way you are and most women will be happy with you as you are.
