I almost asked a guy friend, but didn't because I didn't want him getting the wrong idea so here goes: Does a guys penis have a mind of it's own? Do you move it like you move a finger, or like when you get a boner it moves on it's own? My face is seriously red while I write this question, but hey I'm curious and hoping for some answers. :) Reply to this Question Share |

Don't feel awkward lol. A log of girls (and even boys) ask this. But no, the penis gets erect when a guy gets aroused and blood flows in the penis and swells up like a sponge. Sometimes, muscle contractions make a penis throb and in some ocassions, it can be controlled. Answer your? Well enough?

I find it easier to think my penis than with my heart... the brain is somewhere in between all that.

With an erection the penis will simply become hard and throb a little. This can be moved a little by the person but only a sort of throbbing motion. An erection can be sort of be induced by thinking about someone or a situation however....the older you become, it can sometimes be a lot more difficult to induce. The mind of it's own erection can suddenly happen out of the blue in any given situation. It may be taliking to someone, accidently being touched by someone or simply a warm shower. Hope this helps.

That's why it's called the head of the penis. Because it houses a brain. (I'm kidding)
It's really no different that the "control" you have over your own genitals. You can twitch them by flexing your PC muscles, but you have no conscious control on arousal (boners for men, wetness and expansion for women) and you can't move them around. They can't move it around like a limb or a finger unless they move it with their hands.

The same muscles that you use to kegel are the muscles a man uses to "flex" his penis...
Many men I know would like very much to have us think that their penis is another life form just attached to their bodies that they have no control over... it's not true.

But the process is also partially just what your body wants to do at the time, regardless of if your mind wants an erection or not.So sometimes guys can get a boner even when they don't want to. Other times they can struggle to get a boner even though they really do want to get one and their mind is aroused. We do have a muscle that we can clench in our penis that makes it quiver a bit. It gets a bit harder while we hold that muscle clenched. Sort of like how you can squeeze your vagina around something like a penis or a finger or dildo. We just have one muscle to squeeze or relax, we don't have control of it like a finger or anything.

No, a guy's penis has the mind of its owner. The dumbest penises are always attached to the dumbest guys.
Only thing dumber than any random dumb guy on the other end of any random penis is any girl whom any random dumb guy convinces otherwise.

Well, you can make an erect one jump by tensing the kegel muscles, but that's about it. For young guys with perfect circulation an erection can also bounce in time with your heartbeat. But we have precious little control over when erections happen.
I'm chuckling a bit imaginging it like an elephant's trunk, but no, it's nothing like that. ;)

Move it like a finger... that's a little bit cool but also a little bit creepy. I can't do that :(

From what I know some muscular movement is involentary but for the most part you can move it back and forth if you have enough pelvic muscles; this only really works with a boner.
But the boner isn't something that can move like a snack or slither or anything, it just becomes hard.
If you're ever curious, it's okay to ask your Sex Ed teacher this, or even just google it on safe search. The informations out there. Sex is something to be informed about.

No, we cannot move it like a finger meaning bend it(because theres no joints, its just a single muscle) We cannot just "activate" an erection, it happens on its own, often happening when the male does NOT wan't an erection, such as during a class. BUT we can sometimes slightly induce an erection by of course thinking of something stimulating, or yknow, physically stimulating the penis.
