Doctor and dermatologist suggested remedies that have not helped. What else can reduce skin discolouration around inner thigh area?

A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

My inner thighs/groin area is very dark and discolorated and I don't know how to get rid of it. It recently made me feel much worse because my partner noticed it and asked me about it.

I read it is a skin condition caused by insulin resistance or from being very overweight. I don't have either of these problems. I read it could also be from thighs rubbing together during exercise which may be the case for me.

I asked both my doctor and dermatologist what I can do to help it and unfortunately they weren't much help. I was told to lose a few pounds and apply a sugar and lemon scrub to help lighten the area. I've been doing this remedy for almost a year and no results.

It's not major but it's something I have dealt with for a while and don't know what else to do. It is affecting sex with my partner because I'm bothered by it.

I thought maybe someone on here has dealt with this before and can tell me what to do? Thanks a bunch.

Sageoldguy1465 agony auntThe REAL solution is for you to say to yourself, and anyone else who mentions it (this discoloration): "What the heck difference does it make?"

Good luck...

P.S. Please note that the President of the USofA, America, has dark skin.... all over....

Hi

I want to put this gently to you, but if your thighs are rubbing together then you are overweight. Skin can discolour with constant friction and maybe you are more prone to it than others. Applying lemon and sugar will not help if the friction is still there.

A solution of more calories out than in will probably do the trick x
