Hey all just a quick question!

I got thrush ages ago, a very mild form of it too the point it only bothered me sometimes and even then that was mainly after/during sex and i had the discharge. I finally got myself to a chemist where i picked up a thrush capsule from boots. Im on the contraceptive pill yasmin, and everythings usually fine. I checked the yasmin leaflet and it gave me a list of ingrediants that would affect it working and i checked the leaflet that was enclosed with the thrush capsule and it didnt mention anything about it affecting the pill, and i also checked that the ingrediants it contained wasnt any of the ingrediants that my pill leaflet said would affect it. The main ingrediant in the thrush capsule was fluconazole.

So i stop taking my pill on a friday morning, and i usually get my period on the sunday night, but my doctor did tell me that my periods would start to get lighter and shorter the longer i had been on it. (I was previously on microgynon 30 for a year but it gave my headaches.) So last month i didnt get my period until the monday night, of course i started to worry i was pregnant, but then assumed i had gotten me period later due to what the doctor had said, it was getting shorter. (Ive been on yasmin for 5/6 months now)

Well now this month, i didnt have any period symptoms and i didnt get my period on the monday. I automatically assumed the worse and that i was pregnant, and my boyfriend was extremley worried aswell, but then this morning i got the reckognizable bad back and aching stomach and i came on mid morning this morning, but only very lightly. Im very close to my mum and told her and she seems to think that its too big a gap, and that i should come on 2/3 days after i stopping taking the pill not nearly four.

Do you think the thrush capsule has affected my pill and made me come on later? or do you think my periods are just getting shorter. And do you think there is anything to worry about such as pregnancy? I have gotten a period and all the period symtoms its just very light at the moment.

Thanks in advance!

LilPixie agony auntIt may just be you worrying too much. Stress can cause periods to be different than to what we're used to.

I was on microgynen 30 too last year, but only for 2 months (it made me feel incredibly sick) then went on yasmin... my doctor changed it to cerazette after 3 months... after i started on the microgynen i got unusual discharge and was diagnosed with thrush, got treated for it, but it has still not gone away... Anyway, My period stayed the same while i was on yasmin, and it shouldn't lighten or shorten your periods either! I was never told that anyway.

I doubt that you have anything to worry about, if you do think that something isn't right, speak to your doctor, he/she will be able to help you more.

I don't know if it'll help you but... I'm on the patch, and when i take my break (which I always start mondays) i don't get my period till friday or saturday...
