He was on top, and kept interlocking his fingers with mine. It was kind of weird, but maybe people do this while having sex? I'm a little naive (although I'm not young) but I was just wondering. Part of being truly intimate. I aslo love being able to look directly into my partner's eyes as we make love.

I think that shows that he cares about you. He obviously wanted you to remember it as gentle and tender rather than just a rough 1 nighter. Maybe he is after more than just sex. Me and my boyfriend often interlock fingers during sex, to me it makes it feel so much special. So yes it is normal and you were very lucky indeed

But you could have told him that you wanted touch him if that is what you wanted to do.
Sounds a bit sexy.

Having sex is about being intimate with someone and intimacy involves other means other than intercourse so what you have described is just part of being intimate, sounds normal to me.

I guess this man must have strong feelings for you, but it depends how the rest of his body language was, but its entirely up to you if you want to develop this male friend into a boyfriend or not.

Pretty normal me thinks when your that in to one another!! Me and my man do it and it says to us that we are connected on a higher level... its part of the closness, the longing for one another and the really wanting you... I was of the opinion when someoone that acted in this way it was because they were TOTALLY into you, and want to be on a higher level with you total intimacy not just a casual thing....

I think that some people do interlock hands whilst during sex as a sign of passion as many people have said this to me, i wouldnt worry about it i would take it as the man does care for you.

Normal? I wouldn't worry about that being abnormal, I'd spend your time thinking about the normality of "...we aren't going to be dating, just messing around, but I've never had sex before this".
That's really unfortunate. It sounds to me like you are settling for a lot less than you are worth. And now you are trying to read more into it (already) from what he did with his hands?
Personally I don't think you can read anything into the hands thing. It could really mean anything, or nothing, depending on the person.

Yea...it's kind of "I want to be connected to you in a different way" type-thing.
To me, it says that they want to experience everything about you in that moment, from what it feels like inside you, to doing something so simple like holding your hand. It says protection, love, friendship. - You sure he just wants to be mates?!

A
reader, anonymous, writes (21 August 2006): It's something to do. To me, it happens once every while. Depends on the type of sex we're doing. This is something of a "We want more than each other's bodies" type of thing.
