And when that happens I find myself where I cannot even focus on work or study. It sucks but am I maybe suffering from a medical condition? I always wondered that maybe it was because I was lazy to the point of making me depressed when I work, however this has happened my entire life and I'm wondering now if it's maybe something related to a medical condition.

You may want to check with a doctor, there actually is something called SAD ( Seasonal Affective Disorder ), commonly know as winter blues, and it's a mood disorder where a depressive state or depressive symptoms are triggered by cold and bad weather.
Sure that ,if this is what you have, you are rather unlucky- Canada is not the best place for you to live ...
Then again, all is relative, and since my friend in Montreal defines as " beautiful, cool and crispy day" a minus 15 C day that in Italy would call for national state of alert.... meybe what you'd define TOO cold does not happen that often :)

I used to get even more depressed in the wintertime because the days were shorter; I looked into it and got a special lamp for it; you sit in front of it (while reading or doing other things) twice a day for at least 20 minutes. I was also clinically depressed for most of my life; it's in the past two months that I've been feeling better, NO DEPRESSION after doing these exercises called "The Five Tibetan Rites" from this book called "The Fountain of Youth." Here's an online copy of the exercises - I hope you give them a try, they are short and very easy! http://www.mkprojects.com/pf_TibetanRites.htm
