yes i have some tips. I got contacts a couple of years ago and for the first couple weeks/months I had some trouble.

----if both of your eyes are the same like mine our you should always have a routine. for example I am right handed so I always put my right contact in first. my optometrist also says that once a contact has been in your eye once or twice, it becomes accustom to your eye shape and other stuff.

---- also, when you take out your contacts 'rinse' them with the solution over your cases for the contacts so you don't waste the solution.

---- also you should keep hand sanitiser by your night stand where you put your contacts in and take them out.

---- just a little tip/story, when I first got my contacts, i accidentally put both contacts in one eye. now, nothing happened to my contacts or eye when this happened but i learned to have a schedule. That's all my tips. have funnnnnn (:

Yes, many people wear contact lenses. I am in the same exact situation that you are in. I am currently still wearing glasses, and they bother me, too. I really want contacts, but I am scared. Tomorrow, I'm going to the doctor's to get them, but I still can't put them in! Tip: When taking out your lenses, use your fingers to make your eye wide, and then blink. I don't have any tips for putting them in!!!!!!!!!

:)srry

(PS Does anyone else have tips?)

elitzabeth agony auntHonestly, it depends on the kind of lenses you must wear. If you have a high astigmatism, like me, you are going to have to wear the toric contact lenses and those are different from the regular ones and a littler difficult to put on. I personally haven't found a pair that suits my eyes. I barely wear my contacts lenses, they give me headaches and they botther my eyes a lot. So, I only wear them when I go out. But that's just me, I am a special case. My best friend wears contact and she says they are the best. I am sure you will find them very easy to wear everyday too.

Good luck, and very important: keep them clean, and if you could get the disposable lenses, better

happy24birthday agony auntI got contacts when I was 17 and am now 40. I loved them when I got them, and I still love them. I would prefer to be able to see well on my own, of course. My mom wore contacts, so I didn't have a fear of them. If you don't have a problem touching your eye, then you should be OK putting them in and taking them out. If you look up while trying to take them out, that should help. I know lots and lots of people who wear contacts. My niece who is 19 and my nephew who is 14 both have them and don't have any problems. I take mine out every night before I go to bed only because my eyes get really dried out if I keep them in too long. Mine have never gotten stuck. If your eyeys feel dry, you can use eye drops that are made for contact lenses. Make sure you always wash your hands before putting them in or taking them out and to clean them really well. I'm so excited for you. I can remember how happy I was when I got mine.

A reader, anonymous, writes (3 April 2008):

My boyfriend wears them every day (personally I think he looks hot in his glasses though :D) and the one thing he told me was annoying about them was to remember not to fall asleep whilst wearing them. You see, when you fall asleep, your eyes roll backwards - and apparently your lense can get stuck. So be careful not to sleep with them in :] he says (he's here with me now) that they're a bit uncomfortable at first, but you get fully used to them usually after a week or so.

But of course, your optician will explain everything :]

I wear them every day. At first they will be a little gritty, uncomfortable maybe but in a few days that's over. They don't hurt so there's nothing to be scared about. They're just a convenient alternative to glasses.

Your optician will tell you everything you need to know. Don't be afraid to ask if there is anything they have missed.
