A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I am about 132 and 5'7 3/4". My husband keeps saying that I am fat. Are there any circumstances under which, or cultures in which this would be considered fat? Are there any guys here that consider this proportion too fat for their taste?

dmartin89 agony auntJeez, what an ass.

At my lowest weight I was 154, and 5ft5 and was wearing size 6 (US) clothes. Being under 10stone is closer to being underweight than overweight!

Your not fat; not at all!

Wow, your husband sounds like a jerk. No better way to show lover and affection for your wife then to call her fat. Not to mention, talk about shallow. I think you picked a spoiled apple.

baddogbj agony auntYes there are cultures in which you'd be considered a big girl but the USA is not one of them. I think that you are likely below average for your age group in the US. Of course it also has to do with build and muscle tone.

As the other posters have said it is is not really a great thing for your husband to be saying to you unless perhaps your were 101 lbs when you met.

He is completely out of line, and you can rightly tell him so! You are not fat. Smack him

fi_the_tree agony auntTurn round and say to him these exact words when he next calls you fat...

"Yeah, I may be fat... But you're ugly, and I can diet!"

Should take him down a few pegs, if all else fails the small penis comments should hurt the most :)

A male reader, anonymous, writes (9 October 2010):

not fat, you're husband is a douche.

if I were you I'd give a cheap shot right back and talk about his dick being small. Might cause a problem but it'd knock him off his high horse.

A reader, anonymous, writes (9 October 2010):

Your husbands an ass. 132 is pretty normal in my opinion, and in the opinion of my own doctor. I'm 151 myself and was told that losing a little more weight wouldn't hurt, but not to work myself up over it.

Even so, there's no excuse for a man to call you fat, much less a man that you're married to.
