writes:A new guy has just started at work, and one of collegues at work thought it would be funny to start a rumour that there was something going on between us just as a joke.But the thing is I actually like him, but every time I talk to him I keep thinking "is he sat there thinking that Im only talking to him because he thinks I fancy him?"Which is making it all abit awkward.The thing is I do actually like him and he's single and Im single and to be honest compared to the ass holes I usually go for, he is a very normal decent guy! (my ex was a tattooist with lots of tattoos and piercings, a drug problem and now in prison for gbh) wheras this guy is just a nice NORMAL decent guy!What shall I do about it because if this goes wrong, it could get really awkward because we work together, also he's really difficult to read, and doesnt show or talk about his emotions very much,please help do I admit to people that I like him?Forget about him?or keep acting like normal and see what happens?Thanks

Don't start any rumours as its likely it'll get back to him where they came from.
What was his reaction to the rumour that you were a couple? Was he annoyed or didnt mind?
Ofcourse, some people make it impossible to find out how they feel and it looks like he is one!
If you find it awkward inviting him out, why not arrange to go out with everyone from work, they way you can get to know him outside of work without the awkwardness of asking him out directly on a one to one basis.
Whats the worst that could happen?
