Dear Cupid

Do guys who are in a committed relationship fantasize about other women who come into their life like collegues etc, while masterburating. I am not talking about movie stars or rock stars, just the normal women whom we see almost everyday like collegues or the shop girl in star bucks etc.. Or am I making big deal out of nothing.

A reader, anonymous, writes (23 October 2012):

I personally think it's disrespectful. I don't, nor will I ever for sure know whether or not my SO does, but I would like to think that he doesn't. It hurts enough that he thinks of celebrities. I think what really matters is how you feel about it. And yes, as other people said, is it affecting the relationship? One thing, he's obviously being honest with you which should put your mind at ease, because I wouldn't think he'd be honest if he were going to or had any desire to cheat. Good luck.

Echoing what HoneyPie said - there's nothing wrong fantasizing about someone else whilst masturbating as long as these fantasies don't extend into something that could affect your relationship.

Just because you're in a relationship doesn't mean that the only female who can now turn you on is your partner.

Hope this helps x

Honeypie agony auntI honestly think most people does to an extend. And I don't think there is anything wrong in it, as long as it doesn't get to the point where they can ONLY get off if they think of someone else.

Sageoldguy1465 agony auntI STILL fantasize about that woman who worked in the office building across the street, when I started work, just after graduating college....

I often saw her in the lunchroom/cafeteria... and couldn't hide my lust for her.... and my office-mates used to tease me about "Mrs Over-Forty" who I lusted for....

Wonder where she is today???? AND, if she'd like to come visit me some time (after all... I live in Florida... and she might well (live here), too!!......)

A reader, anonymous, writes (22 October 2012):

I do, my girlfriend does too. It's just harmless fantasy. I've never cheated, never wanted to cheat and plan on spending the rest of my life with this woman. We both believe that fantasy is healthy, imagining other possibilities is a good thing. Besides normal, real women are far hotter than any made up, photoshopped celebrity will ever be. Pictures of 'friends' on Facebook is used more by my friends for wanks now than any porn site.
