 Some chicks love a cocky guy, some of them can appreciate vanity - especially if they have a vain streak themselves. For me, that is such a turn off. Taking care of yourself isn't - in fact, that's a great quality (especially if you find a gal who likes going to the gym too), but making love to yourself in the mirror is definitely unattractive, at least to me.

as long as you spend more time on her than on yourself you should be fine.
I used to live opposite a couple... always super trendy clothes, she was blonde extensions, spray tan. He was toned and skinny with a LOT of product in his hair.
They would leave for work together and walk off in separate directions, but they always had the same ritual. They lived over a shop with a reflective window and he would lock the door while she checked her hair and face in the window. Then he would do the same. They would then check each other, she would make sure his hair was perfect and then they'd kiss and set off to work.
They were both so vain it was hilarious, but they were happy together and vain in equal ways so it worked well.
Find a girl who is as into self-image as you are and you'll be fine.

 Working out and looking after yourself is a good thing and wont put a girl off. But looking in the mirror loads - this will be off-putting! Girls dont like guys who are obsessed with the way they look, and they dont like a man who spends more time getting ready than they do!
A friend of mine once slept with a guy who, the whole way through, was watching/looking at himself in the mirror. Needless to say, she never saw him again! Vanity is not an attractive quality in a person, you wouldnt like to go out with a girl who spent her whole time looking in the mirror rather than looking at you would you?!
So find a balance - making sure you look good is fine, by working out and taking care of yourself. But being obsessive about it to the point where you spend your whole time on it is bad! You should be looking at the girl you like not looking at yourself in the mirror!
