writes:Hello everyone,Apparently girls should shave their pubic hair, so I did, however I'm not sure where you actually shave. Say you stood naked infront of a mirror, all the hair you can see - that's what I shaved. Is that right or do you need to shave underneath too, from the top (just under your hipline) to the top of the slit area (obviously where you wee ... from.I feel a little silly asking this but I've tried looking on the internet and that doesn't say, and I can't ask my friends - they'd probably just tell others. All I want to know is where you shave? And if there are different 'styles'? I've heard of 'bald eagle' and 'racing stripe' are there any others and which is best/more ladylike/or what do guys think is nicer - No guys are going to see it, I just like to think I look nice down there. reader, anonymous, writes (6 May 2011): Well there's a lot of comments her about what 'girls' do, but as a 50 year old woman in my entire life I have never shaved and have no desire or request to do so. I have never had much pubic hair and it has thinned out over time. I personally don't like the shaved 'pre-pubescent' look of shaved vulva's you see a lot in porn. I like having the triangle of 'hair' and my man does not complain nor have I had any complaints from any men. I do use scissors and cut it back a bit; right at the split area before my clitoris as I am mindful that too much 'bush' might mean he'd get a hair in his mouth during oral sex. But I made up my mind to do this on my own. I trim a bit at the bikini area where my thigh meet my vagina area, but very little. As I have very little hair anyway. My man has a thick bush of pubic hair and sometimes I've gotten a hair in my mouth, but it does not bother me much. My skin is very sensitive to shaving and I choose not to endure the itching of growing or in-grown hair...

 Not all girls shave. I haven't shaved yet, and I'm not planning to. I tried once, but it got too irritated. I don't know much about "styles' but i personally think you need to wait awhile before even thinking about that.

reader, anonymous, writes (22 March 2011): No not all girls shave. What a lot of girls do and almost all guys like is having all of underneath and in between your legs completely shaved. Then, as for the part you can see standing before a mirror, a lot of girls either shave that completely or shave just the bikini line (the part that shows out the legs of a bikini and the top area, if any hair shows there. I personally do that, having a small, trimmed patch of visible hair, and that's it. One more thing. Before you shave around the slit, which is called the labia or lips, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A NEW RAZOR and some kind of soap/moisturizing shave foam, or you will get a very uncomfortable irritation. That skin is super sensitive, so: 1) use a new razor2) only shave with wet skin and lather NEVER dry skin3) afterwards rinse and gently pat dry, then use a little fragrance-free lotion4) if you can, do this at night, then sleep without undies on to allow your skin some healing time. By the next day you should be all healedAlso, your skin is going to take some time to get used to this because of its sensitivity. Best of Luck!

I'm wondering where you got the idea that girls "SHOULD" shave their pubic hair. Why exactly? I will tell you that I trim up underneath the day before my period is due. And if I'm going to wear a bathing suit (which I haven't in many years) I will do the "bikini line" area. Otherwise, shaving serves no purpose. Unless you meet a man who would like that, but even then it should be an area of discussion and possible compromise on both of your parts.

 well to answer the first bit "Apparantly all girls should shave down there" It's all down to personal preference as to whether you want a "Shaven Haven" as they would call it. Some people rather it shaved or just a little bit left there or some people think it makes you look like a little girl and prefer the hair. So its all down to personal preference.Second bit where to you shave again depends on what style your going for some girls shave all of it so from where your vagina starts at the top by your hip all the way down to the very bottom of your vagina. Some people have a little strip at the top of the vagina.I don't know what they're all called or what different variations they have but maybe it's worth looking on like to see if theres any discriptions or going to the nearest salon that does waxing and see what weird and wonderful variations they have.Hope this helps xoxoxox

Well, no, not all girls shave. And the ones who regularly shave typically do it only for special reasons. Such as shaving the bikini line (remove the hair that would otherwise show when you're in a bikini), or if they have a special night with their boyfriend etc. I just like to keep it tidy so it's not a full bush, and the easiest way is either use scissors, or just shave the entire load. When you shave it all in front, you should shave "underneath" as well yes.
