Has anyone ended up with someone completely different to what you expected? Or have you found the person you've always imagined you'd be with? Has anyone surprised themselves with who they've found themselves with? I'd just like to hear your stories :) Thanks. Reply to this Question Share |

You will know when you have found the 'one', there is no point in keeping on searching for prince charming, he will find you.

But, somehow we clicked and I can't imagine being without him. I think when you meet that someone you know, but that very often that person isn't who you might expect it to be. I also think that often the "ideal" is often based on physical appearance, whereas when you meet someone personality and real interaction take over; what someone looks like isn't necessarily as important anymore.

And he had turned me down. Over the years my tastes changed and he was no longer my "type". I was into very tall, laid back blond "surfer" dudes. He is 5'9", dark hair, intense.
But I went out with him anyway... And almost a year later, here we are.
He's definitely not who I would have pictured myself with. He's short tempered and impatient and overly persistant.I am laid back, laissez faire, sloppy. But he also treats me like a queen and makes me laugh. he's definitely not perfect, but he's perfect for me.

No I settled for someone who was not my soul mate and have been unhappy for 20 years. I have now met my soulmate and we are married, unfortunately to other people. It SUCKS

I had put so little effort into thinking about into who I would end up with and such that I actually thought I was a lesbian or asexual since no men really interested me, and the ones I dated were so totally not for me. Then I saw this quiet, mysterious, incredibly strikingly handsome man in one of my college classes, and it's the closest I've ever come to love at first sight. He also on top of that turned out to be really truly different from other guys, and was so sweet and caring, We're actually moving in together now (yes I meant that in present tense. I'll do some packing and then get on DC for a break)!

Relax and be happy with the man you fall in love with. If you can live with together without wanting to kill each other then that's as close to perfect as you can wish for.

My guy is 5'10"....tans well but not dark....and ruggedly handsome with brilliant blue eyes and thinnish hair.
I wanted a kind, caring hard worker, someone who could express his feelings, hahahaha....he is kind, caring, a hard worker, and has a terrible time expressing his feelings.
I wanted a man with calluses on his hands....he has them. I wanted a man who would be faithful thru the good ttimes and hard times....some one who fulfilled me...made me a better person....who i could laugh with and cry with and who i could grow old with....who i could trust to be there....
I found that man. :) mal
