Did his friend really influence him to masturbate, or did he change?

Question - (14 June 2010) 4 Answers - (Newest, 14 June 2010)
A female United States age 36-40, *arahOhs writes:

I recently caught my boyfriend of 5 years masturbating to porn on his PS3. He said he had only been doing it for about six months, when he was friends with someone he was "influencing" him to be a..."pig."

He says that other than those six months, he had NEVER masturbated out of FIVE years. And that he wasn't watching porn the whole time he had his PS3, it was ONLY for those 6 months.

He is such a liar, right?? Or do some guys not masturbate when they have an attractive girlfriend who is willing to have sex anytime of the day? And if he is telling the truth, what would make him watch porn and start masturbate all of the sudden? Could a single friend really influence him so much to start thinking about other women?

person12345 agony auntIf it weren't for the "well my friend influenced me" excuse I wouldn't be immediately jumping the conclusion he's lying. Yes there are actually guys who don't masturbate when they have an attractive and willing girlfriend willing to do what they want whenever they want. However, the guys that will masturbate in a relationship don't just start because a friend tells them to. Generally there are the guys that do, and there are the guys that don't in a relationship and unless something dramatic changes or there's a big drop change in the sex drive of their partner they don't just start and stop.

Miamine agony auntOh dear Gabrielle, just came in to open the window, it's getting pretty hot in here.. lol

Yes he is lying, because he dosen't want to hurt or worry you, he's embarrased, and he dosen't want you to stop him doing something he finds enjoyable..

Try the "don't ask, don't tell" policy if you are truely anti-pornography.. creates the least arguements, what you can't see can't hurt you.

PS: Pornography is really borring, eventually most people cut down or give up, that's why it's not worth making a fuss, it just makes people detirmined to continue watching so they can prove that they are free and not controlled by their partner.

Gabrielle Stoker agony auntA) Yes, he's lying.

B) Porn does not constitute 'other women'.

C) Men never want to admit they watch porn.

D) If you can, ignore it and tell him you'd rather he's put his cum in you (or, if you're like me, on you) than waste it masturbating.

I'll tell you straight that he was lying. He'll have been masturbating for ages. You just caught him at it for the first time.
