If you really want to know then ask her.
But does it really matter? She's attracted to this woman and she returns the feeling. Be happy for them.

She wouldn't be the first person who has gone through life considering themselves to be straight only to have their world turned upside down by meeting someone of the same sex that they find themselves attracted to.If two single people have feelings for each other, and both are comfortable exploring those feelings and seeing where it may lead to then where is the harm in that? Of course it is possible that she is mistaking other feelings for attraction, especially if she has been feeling lonely or down recently. If she is unsure then it would be a good idea to take things slowly and one step at a time - it would be a shame to ruin a good friendship for a soon to be regretted fling.

Maybe your friend was always BI and never knew until she got close to her friend, or maybe she just prefers girls.
you dont know for sure, so why dont you ask your friend direct if she is totally gay or bi?
