writes: my wife and i were watching a tv show and the question of virginity came up. we started to talk about our first times and my wife said she was fingered for over 2 years before she had intercourse.what i do not understand is she says she still had her hymen.i don't understand how this can be possible after being fingered for so long or was this just a figure of speach for losing her virginity.

reader, anonymous, writes (30 April 2008): Although I find it a little strange that she was fingered for so long without her hymen being broken, it's still possible! They are often very elastic, or higher up so that only a penis can fully break it.

If you go to Wiki, it will explain all about hymens. It is a "ring" of tissue that narrows the vaginal opening. It has an opening for the menses, so it is possible to have a finger enter and not totally disrupt the hymen, leaving it either partially or fully intact.
