you can get false negatives on pregnancy tests but not false positives so see your doctor just to make sure.

pashanoodle agony auntHi, not to freak you out, but a friend of mine had symptoms too - but took several home tests and they all came back negative. Eventually she demanded a pelvic ultra sound and they found she was about 10 wks along - but it was an ectopic (in the fallopian tube) pregnancy. If it had gone undiscovered much longer the tube could have ruptured which can be very serious for the woman - even fatal I'm told.

This is probably not the case for you - but if you are having doubts the best way to be sure is to see your Dr asap!

Good luck!

x..BabyGirl..x agony auntNo you're right to have your doubts, take another test or two just to make absolutely sure. It sure does sound like a pregnancy for these things to be happening all at the same time, but it may just be sure coincidence. Hope I helped =D

A female reader, ladycharm United Kingdom +, writes (27 May 2008):

ladycharm agony auntyes you could still be pregnent if you taking anything that effects your hormone levels you could get the wrong test it could also depend on how long its been since you had sex for example if you had sex and have not yet waited a few weeks before you took the test it might be to early to tell my suggestion is wait a couple of days and take another test try useing a diffrent tyip of test and if your still concerned see your doctor and he can do a blood test good luck

A male reader, PeterPan United States +, writes (27 May 2008):

PeterPan agony auntI suppose that depends on the test. If it was one of those home-pregnancy tests, then yes you could be pregnant even if the test showed negative. The only why to be sure one way or the other is a medical exam and testing. If you've had the medical exam, and that showed negative, then I'd be more inclined to believe a doctor's results over one of those self-tests.
