Yes, lowered libido is one of the most reported side-effects of being on the pill. If you were on for so long, it may take awhile for things to get back to normal. If in a month or two your libido doesn't return, you'll need to examine psychological issues (like dissatisfaction with the relationship).

Yeah, it's very much a possibility. There is a chance of someone sex drive increasing or decreasing after starting taking birth control and it's the same for coming off it. It's caused by the change of hormones. Your sex drive may have been fairly high because you were on the pill or your body is just getting used to the change. It could take a few weeks or maybe even a few months before you're body returns back to normal.

reader, anonymous, writes (18 August 2010): For sure! When i was on birth control i pretty much stopped sex completely, I didn't have a desire for it. I stopped taking it and now my sex life is pretty much back to the way it was before i was on it.
