Veasse agony auntUnfortunately you can have a period when you are pregnant, however if you are on the pill and use protection and have had no accidents then you should be fine.

My advice would be to think back and try to remember if the condom split at any time, or if you were on any medication at the time (anti-biotics) which could have caused the pill not to work.

I think its silly to check "every now and again" if you havent got cause to worry.

I know lots of people may say this but the age of consent is 16 in the UK and although i cannot stop you from having sex i can advise you to be careful and use protection in the form of both the pill and condoms.

In my opinon if your friend thinks that it is important to check for pregnancy even though she is on the pill and condoms then she isnt mature enough to be having sex, you both need to understand sex and the implications first before you do end up with a baby or a sexually transmitted disease.

You can still catch horrible diseases when you are on the pill and condoms arent 100% safe... even if they dont break they are around 97% safe.

Please go to see a doctor or go to the family planning clinic, someone you trust who is a professional adult, discuss it with them, and perhaps they can help you more than I can give you advice.

Good Luck and take care

flower girl agony auntSome people do go through their whole pregnancy having periods, if you feel that you want to check thats entirely up to you but you say you use protection and you have not missed any periods providing you are very strict with your protection you are 99% safe.

Take care.xx.

Yes, it's entirely possible to have your period throughout your entire pregnancy.
