Go see your GP and ask about the depo injection

n. Im also on it and dont have any periods not even the slightest tummy ache each month. If you decide that you what children in the future then it takes about a year to fully leave you system and it makes you eat like pig and put alot of weight on. It does suit me very well but not everyone will say the same . It has been known to make you bleed for months.

Seratuki agony auntYes, you CAN do those things...but I've heard from thousands of women that when they decided to have children it was MUCH MUCH more difficult and it took them a long time to fall PG, Please, if you want to do this stuff ALWAYS discuss it with your GP...some things can have very long term problems even after you've stopped doing it...

You wouldn't want to be back here in a few years time asking for help because you can't have kids and you want them now..do you?

Yes you can get rid of your menstral. If your taking birth control pills, all you have to do is skip the last 7 green pills. Start the next packet. But always skip the sugar pills. You shouldn't have a menstral then. Thats what I do every month. I hate my menstral as well.

sexylinz agony auntalso if u do want to have children in the future i suggest the depo provera injection (contraceptive).

you have one injection every 3months and in many people like me while you are on the injection it can stop ur periods.

there's also a coil which can stop ur periods too. go and see ur GP

Seratuki agony auntNo offense,

But what if you decided AFTER you did something drastic like that, that you wanted to have kids?

I'm sure almost every woamn hates her period at one point, but there is a natural biological reason for it

I mean sure, it's painful, annoying, and completely inconvinent. But it's your body's way of cleaning it's self out...

I really hope you think this through before you do it, you'd be kicking yourself later if you make a rash decision...

Yes! There's absolutely no reason why you need to have periods.

I urge you to make an appointment with your GP to discuss your individual options, because he/she will know your history and be able to give you relevant and professional advice.

But here's a couple of ideas. First, if you can take the contraceptive pill, you may be able to skip over the last seven in the pack (the 'dummy' tablets) and start again on the estrogen/progesterone ones. Because there's no break in the hormone intake, you won't have a period. The only downside is that you go through pills 25% faster.

Another option might be a day-surgery procedure called endometrial ablation. It's only suitable if you don't want to have (further) children, because it makes pregnancy unlikely (though not impossible). It's done under general anaesthesia, and involves burning off the endometrial lining of your uterus, so that afterwards, there's nothing there to fill up with blood, so no periods.

I too, hated my periods, and finally asked my doctor. We discussed a number of more radical options, like hysterectomy, and decided on ablation. I've never looked back and not had a period now for 5 months! I'm rapt.

Get to your GP, get a referral to an ob-gyn if necessary, and ask what your options are.
