My problem is that the nail varnish doesn't last long and often chips or flakes off, so i'm considering checking out a nail bar to see if they can offer me anything more longer lasting, just not false nails or normal varnish again, does anyone have any idea if they do stuff like this? You can use clear nail varnish to protect the coating! (this has never worked for me though). In avon i saw an 'acrylic nail varnish' that's supposed to be strong and everything... maybe worth a look?

I don't know if the nail bar has this, but I normally apply a coat of clear varnish over my nail and the manicure can last 2 weeks without chipping. This is a Revlon clear varnish which costs about 3 times more than the regular clear varnish you get.

There's this gel stuff you can have put on. It's like a nail varnish but because it's gel it last ages and properly coats the nails. I was reading about it, it's available at larger salons.

yes, they can give you a gel coating which is a coating of acrylic gel placed over your nail which you can gel in a variety of colours, its just like having you nails painted then this gel is placed on top of your own nail which usually lasts about 3 to 4 weeks. i would highly recommend it as it keeps your nail varnish from chipping and the design that you chose for it stays in tact until its removed xo

Hi, have you ever tried a protective clear top coat , i find this very good and usually lasts a week or so but no varnish will last forever, And i think going to the nail bar is a good idea as even if you dont want to fork out for expensive teratments etc they will be more than happy to advise you and believe me they are the experts so they will have the best answers to your problem.Good luck pls let me know how you get on.RegardsLeeanne
