MikeEa1 agony auntI don't think I can compete with chigirl on this. she has shed some light. Peoples feelings will be different, especially when one is getting more of what they want than the other. I don't see it that way when I go into a relationship and I am sure I am not alone but some do. I would much rather be in love but theres 2 things. One is he might not be as in love as you but he probably is(chigirl has convinced me) and the other is as you will be together for a long time you will learn a lot about him that may affect the way you feel about him.

chigirl agony auntOh, and "more" in love doesn't exist. Being in love isn't a definite state, it fluctuates, and some are hit more heavily than others. Yet, loving someone isn't a "higher" state of being in love, loving someone is a different sort of feeling really. Being in love means you are infatuated with someone, and it is primarily hormones making you go crazy about them, so crazy you rarely see them for who they truly are. Loving someone is when you see who they truly are, and love them for who they are.

A female reader, chigirl Norway +, writes (18 June 2012):

chigirl agony aunt"in lust" is a fad. Not a real state of mind or anything. It just means you are attracted to someone, that's all! Nothing special of fancy, you just think they are hot. If you're in love with someone then you miss them, your heart skips a beat when you see them, you can't stop thinking about them and you have a silly smile on your face when you think about them, they can't do nothing wrong and there are butterflies in your belly when you're with them.

I guess you can put it this way:

In lust = he gets your pants wet

In love = he makes you smile just by thinking of him
