 There's always a small chance, but it's highly unlikely. It's more likely a woman would contract one if she swallowed. Also yes all vaginas have a smell to them, many men find it attractive. All women smell different, and no there isn't really any way to avoid it other than to not perform oral (though that is the main way women most women orgasm from sex).

The natural smell of the "beaver" is there no matter what. It's what men find intoxicating and delishious. If you don't like it you don't like it, and then there's not much you can do. But most like it. I take for granted that a girl will be hygienic and clean regularly, and also wash up before letting a guy go down there, so you don't have to taste or smell urine and sweat. But the natural odour will always be there.
As for STD's, yes there are some you can contract from oral sex. You should have yourself and your girl in question tested before having sex. If you are a virgin, and have had no signs of any STD passed to you by other means (through birth, use of needles, blood spill), then you are as good as clean. There are no guarantees in life, but at least where I live the doctors will not test you for STD's unless you have put yourself in a situation where you might have contracted one. So if you haven't, they wont test you. Same goes with the girl. And unfortunately you will just have to trust her on her being STD free. Because even if she shows you a paper from her doctor, there are no guarantees in life: she could be cheating.
If you are dead scared of STD's, then avoid all sexual contact. Or realize that you always take a risk, and minimize that risk by only having sex with someone you know well.
Then, not all STD's can be contracted through oral sex, but here are some: herpes (typically not from mouth to genitalia, but no guarantees), HPV-virus, gonorrhea and heppattitis B.
Another fact about STD's is that even if your partner has one, there is no 100% chance you will contract it. You can have sex with this person for a life time and never get it, or you can have sex and get it right away. The chances, in the big picture, vary from 90% chance with the most common such as HPV-virus, to maybe 10% chance for others. These aren't fixed numbers, but just to give you an idea of how easy, or not easy, it is to contract an STD. Gonorrhea for example is very difficult to contract from oral sex. But it happens.

Yes. You can contract stds of the mouth from oral sex, like a yeast infection in your mouth or herpes :) and as a female, i'd say its probably more polite to "ignore" the smell than perhaps saying "wow you smell nasty" haha. Mouthwash would probably be something to take with you, too. Nothing quite like the taste of stale vagina. Lol.
