Just a thought, I was wondering today, How many people can you actually be in love with at once, for example could you be in love with the person you married and also another person equally???

A reader, anonymous, writes (5 April 2010):

Yes, there are people who can have these types of relationships where they genuinely can love two people at the same time. It's very difficult to maintain that lifestyle and all parties have to be in agreement and very patient and communicative people. Look up polyamory (many loves)...

Being in love, that rush of feelings, a crush, that usually just happens to one person at a time. That feeling however usually doesnt last for too long. Love on the other hand is deeper and stronger, and you can love several people at once, but you can love them all differently, or all the same. Think of it like this (hypothetically), you love your mother and your father and your siblings, you love them all at once, but you also love each one differently. Love is love but it comes in many colours I guess.

The Realist agony auntI beleive that yes you can love many people at once. Maybe not every person can do this but it is possible. There are so many types of love and the mind (heart) is large enough. As for how many people I would say maybe up to five or so. If you have multiple people than think about the specifics as to why you love them and see what you come up with.

I love my gf with everything I have but there are other people who I know that I would not get romantically involved with (I would never cheat) but I would put everything on the line to help them in a time of need and that is love.

A female reader, Danii-N-Dale United Kingdom +, writes (4 April 2010):

Danii-N-Dale agony auntThis is a difficult question to be honest, i mean it depends on the person on how they feel, but i have found that youu cant love two people well you can but youu will always love one person more.

I left someone i loved for someone i liked/loved andd it didnt work out and i relised how much i loved the guy i left and now were back togetherr and stongg as ever.

But i supose everyones different and people have different views so i would advise youu to think about this and follow your heart learn by your own mistakes.
