Many (all?) STDs can also be spread through blood and if things are messy enough you may get blood on parts of you that aren't covered by a condom. If this is an issue and you guys want to keep having period sex, she could look into disposable menstrual cups (like Instead), which can be worn comfortably/safely during sex. (Reusable menstrual cups have a different shape and you'll seriously hurt yourself if you try to have sex while she's got one of those in.)And yeah, as someone else said, keep using whatever birth control method you use during the rest of the month. Women can still get pregnant on their periods, and I imagine the risk of that is even higher with young women whose menstrual cycles are still a little irregular.

If you don't mind and she doesn't mind and you are both enjoying it, go for it :-) Just be safe and ALWAYS USE PROTECTION, even when she is on her period....sperm can remain active up to two weeks and woman have been known to get pregnant during this time. You are both young to be sexually active, but since you are...if you are old enough to have sex, then you better be old enough to take proper care in preventing another teen pregnancy, okay?

Why would we judge you?
There is nothing wrong with sex during your period… it can be messy that’s all
Put down some old towels under her…. As we say in our world “damn the sheets full speed ahead”

Judge ? Bad ? ... This must be another American hang up. It's totally normal, not some unusual fetish.
( Yes, a few people won't have sex during a menstrual period - same as other people won't perform oral, or won't French kiss, etc.etc. Personal preferences, that's all )

It's just blood. How could it be harmful?

And from a guy, Yes you should not be judged for that. Yes it is safe. Yes be a responsible partner and practice safe sex. Oh and make sure you clean up, and don't embarrass her about it. Soak in cold water to remove any stains.

Second, your girlfriend may enjoy it or may find it very uncomfortable. Talk to her about it. Remember that during the period girls have severe pain in their abdomen area, so it may not be pleasant for them to have sex at that time.

No worries about judging! It's a matter of personal preference whether or not you and/or your partner want to have sex while she's on her period. Some women like it, others don't.
As far as if it's bad, nope! Not at all! The only thing to keep in mind is to make sure you are using condoms, which you should be doing no matter whether or not she's on her period or not. STI's are usually transmitted through bodily fluids, and...well...without spelling it out graphically, there are more of those at this time of month.
Otherwise, it's all a matter of preference! Stay safe, and be careful whenever you are sexually active!

Why would we judge? LOTS of couples have period sex. It can be a different and enjoyable sensation. There's nothing harmful about it. Everything related to her period happens up in the uterus and sex never goes near that.

If you don't know these basics, don't have sex! It's illegal in most States at your age anyway, for precisely this reason - you are not ready.

I dont think that it will harm your body but I have read an article stating that it can potentially cause cancer and other complications. Though the chances of that happening are slim and I dont mean to scare either of you but it is possible.
