He's a cashier and 20, he always takes the time to chat to me and remembers what I tell him, he is fond of attempting to find common ground. However I am only 16 and I really like the guy but I don't think he knows how old i am, he asked me if i was back at uni the other day, I know I don't look older than my age but i also know from talking to me i seem older. So my first question is; is age an issue? My second; can i just ask him out for coffee?Any help much appreciated Thank you X)

Provided that he knows how old you are, it shouldn't be an issue. If you feel confident enough and want to, go for it.
Good Luck. X

There's nothing wrong with the age gap. But he does really need to know your age before he goes out with you seriously, or you both might end up hurt if he doens't know then finds out further down the line as such. If he asks you about uni again or anything that implies you're older, come clean that you don't go and just say how old you are. If after that he's still interested, you could always ask him out. Hope that helps a bit. x
