I have never had sex or any sexual contact before EVER, so there have to be other ways you can get it. When I asked my doctor she said these things happen sometimes and no-one can say why. Please don't assume the worst and support your wife through this. All the best.

If either of you ever did anything like fingering, hand jobs, oral sex, dry humping without clothing or with very minimal clothing, it's possible to get that way.

Virtually all cervical cancer is caused by HPV. However, you can get HPV without having sex, such as hand to genital contact or something like rubbing or touching, if either of you had done that. HPV can take many, many, many years to cause problems and is very often asymptomatic.

Not all cervical cancer is caused by HPV. Men carry it and because it usually has no symptoms in them, is very difficult to find unless that is what you are specifically searching for. Were you tested? There are a million different ways she could have gotten cervical cancer.

Infection with HPV may have occurred years ago and the virus can remain in the body for weeks, years, or even a lifetime, without any sign of an infection. This makes it hard to know exactly when or from whom someone got the virus. There is no way to find out how long a particular infection has been there. Most people who are infected with anogenital HPV are not aware of it. "http://www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/std-mts/hpv-vph/hpv-vph-qaqr-eng.php#a6to sum it up: according to this it seems like it doesnt have to mean she cheated, it could mean that she got it from a previous partner, or even from you if you got it from a previous partner and it just didnt show until now
